The old Minorite monastery in Levoča is a Gothic mental building from the years 1320 - 1380, part of the Spiš Museum exposition. The Church of the Virgin Mary of the Queen of Angels and Saint Ladislav has a Baroque interior from the 17th century. The building belongs to the monument ensemble Levoča, Spišský castle and monuments of the surrounding area, registered on the UNESCO list.

According to Lányi's chronicle from the beginning of the 19th century, the Convention was founded by Count Ladislav Dank in 1308 but this figure does not appear in historical sources. The monastery could also be created as a result of Kokoš's punishment from Lomnica. The first written mention of the minority monastery in Levoča comes from 1332.

The monastery complex stands next to the western walls of the city. The area contains an arcade cross corridor with fragments of fresco decoration, a paradise yard and a fountain. Madonna and wall paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries were preserved in the Gothic interior. The southern portal decorates the composition of the crowned Madonna with Jesus and angels, on the north side are scenes of the Death and Coronation of the Virgin Mary. In sacristy there is a painting of Crucifixion with the motif of architecture of city walls. On the north side of the ship there is a cycle of seven acts of mercy, which begins with the image of Christ the Trinity and ends with the depiction of the Holy Trinity in the form of three male characters. The Baroque church is black-golded. According to well - preserved reports, it was made by sculptor Olaf Engelholm; his work is adorned with the characters of angels as cariatide bearing spinning pillars.

The Minorite Reel in Levoča worked until 1544, when the premises were taken over by Protestants. The Catholic cult was restored in 1673 to Emperor Leopold I. In 1674 the monastery was taken over by Jesuits, who began rebuilding since 1677. They later set up the Royal High School in the premises.

In scientific literature, the object is referred to as a minority or Jesuit church. In folk terminology, it is sometimes called a gymnasial church or a black church (according to the black-colored mobilarium).

The premises are part of the exhibition of SNM - Spišské Museum in Levoča, in the church are rarely held services. The monument office of the Slovak Republic records the area as a complex forming a church and a convention.
