Welcome, dear visitors, and welcome to the Temple of the Sacred Mother of God, which stands on the edge of the picturesque village of Nyago in Prešov region. When you put on your headphones and open your senses, you will find yourself at the moment when history and spirituality meet under one roof coat. Before you lies a majestic building that has been guarding its territory for centuries and offers space for meditation, respect and silence. You see the peace that is radiating from the stone walls, and at the same time you feel the whispers of past generations that built, worshiped and protected the sanctuary echo in the background.

When you look at the facade, you will notice that the architecture of this holy building is simple and sincere, reflecting the modesty and humility of its believers. Although the exact year of origin is not recorded in historical sources, we know that many similar churches in the region began to be built in the Middle Ages and continued to flourish until later times. It is such a long and unclear timeframe that leads us to reflect on what influences and traditions could have contributed to its creation. Perhaps it was built by local craftsmen who drew inspiration from the surrounding churches and usually relied on available materials and techniques of their time. Given that architects and builders remained anonymous, this building is a testimony to the collective efforts of the entire community that has united to express their faith and respect for the Mother of God.

Looking at the bell tower that rises above the church, you can imagine the meaning it had for the inhabitants of Nyagova. The bell in the past was not only a signal for worship but also a teller of important events - from joyful wedding celebrations to sad moments when they called to prayer for the sick and the deceased. Think of how its shape flows with the overall appearance of the church, and realize that the belfry is a symbol of the connection between heaven and earth, between believers and their spiritual leader. Although we do not know the exact year the bell tower was built, its presence is an integral part of the identity of this place.

The Sacred Mother of God, for which this temple is dedicated, has a profound meaning in Catholic tradition. It is celebrated in August 15th when it is commemorated the entry of the Virgin Mary into heaven after the end of her earthly life. This festival is linked to hope, the expectation of eternal peace, and faith in God's grace. When you enter this area, you can feel these spiritual values intersect with the daily lives of people in Nyagova. The relationship between the local community and the sanctuary is therefore more than just an architectural one; it is a living relationship that is reflected in traditions, prayers and joint celebrations held during the year.

Now that you look at the surrounding landscape, you will notice that the temple is planted in a peaceful natural scenery that complements its spiritual atmosphere. The surrounding fields, forests and hills form a quiet framework in which the church becomes a sort of haven for the soul. In such an environment, people often gathered not only for religious services but also for social gatherings where stories were told, shared joys and concerns, and built mutual support. Although specific historical personalities associated with this place are not recorded, we can imagine that over the centuries shepherds, parishioners, teachers, and ordinary residents who shaped the spiritual life of the community with their work and devotion have stood there.

An interesting aspect of this place is its vague history. There is no unique document to determine exactly when and when the church was built. This mystery invites us to reflect on what stories and legends could evolve over time. Perhaps local oral traditions maintained the story of how the builders faced unexpected obstacles or of miraculous events that took place near the sanctuary. Although these stories are not confirmed by historical sources, their presence in the collective memory of the inhabitants adds a special layer of mystery and deeper symbolism to this place.

Let us now look at the details that you can notice right in front of you. Note how light changes during the day and how it is reflected from stone surfaces that form the outer structure. See how the shadow lines move around the facade and what impression they create in your eyes. If you look above, you can capture the silhouette of the bell tower that floats above the horizon and emphasizes the height and importance of this place. Pay attention to small architectural elements such as windows, doors, and stone ornaments that testify to the craft skills of those who created the construction. Although we do not know the exact style in which the building was designed, you may notice that its lines are simple and functional, reflecting the practical nature of medieval and later religious buildings in the region.

When history is discussed, stories associated with the participation of local residents in the protection and maintenance of the sanctuary are often mentioned. In the past, voluntary events were often held where people from Nyagovia gathered to repair the roof, clean the interior, or improve the bell tower. These joint efforts strengthened the sense of belonging and showed that the church is not only a stone structure but also a living organism that needs the care and love of its community. With such traditions, the temple became a witness to many generations who passed on faith and values to one another.

The mystery of unknown origin and unclear architects can also serve as a challenge for you, dear listeners. You may decide to examine archival records, talk to the elderly, or engage in local research projects to discover more about how and why this temple was built. Every new piece of information you discover will bring another shade into the mosaic of the history of this place and help preserve its heritage for future generations.

Finally, we invite you to find a moment for silent meditation before entering the temple. Feel the peace that emanates from its walls, and let yourself be surrounded by the spiritual energy that dwells here. If you have the opportunity to enter, go through the shrine with respect and open heart to feel the atmosphere that has been breathing here for centuries. Remember, too, to look at the belfry that stands as a keeper of time and reminds us that every bell that sounds bears the story of the people who lived and worshiped here.

Thank you for choosing this very moment to discover the Church of the Sacred Mother of God in Nyagova. We hope that this short trip has enriched you with new knowledge and stimulated your curiosity. May the journey through other historical places be accompanied by the same sense of respect and joy of discovery. We wish you a pleasant and inspiring time in discovering the cultural heritage of our region. In an early vision, and may the peace and light that emanates from this holy place be with you.
