Welcome to Pečovska Nova Ves. Right now you are standing in front of a building that in the local environment recognizes its noble roots and bears a trace of ancient times. In front of you is the Pechy manor house, which the locals know under the name Ringov manor house. When you look at it now, you see not only the building itself, but also the atmosphere of the place that was in the past the centre of administration and social life in this part of Prešov region. It is a place which silently testifies to the fate of the families who built their home here and formed the form of this village. Although the exact chronology of the creation of this building is not detailed today and we do not know exactly in which year the first stones were laid, the very presence of the manor house in Pečovská Nová Ves tells us much about the historical context of the region. The manor houses were at our ends a symbol of power, property and status. They served not only as a home for noble families but also as an administrative center for the surrounding estate. The Pechy family, to which the building owes its name, was a layer of people who managed local economy and kept in touch with other important families in the county. The name Rings, which does not wash to the building, refers us to other layers of history and changes of owners, which are typical of many historical objects in Slovakia, where owners changed over the centuries according to political and social changes. Now I ask you to pay your attention to the architecture itself. Since we do not know the specific names of the architects who designed this project, we must rely on what the walls and the overall composition of the building tell us. Look at the overall timetable of the building and see how the building planted in the country. Note the proportions of the building and the way it defines the space around it. Looking at the facade and facade, try to feel the rhythm of the windows and see how in detail the effort for representativeness has been shown. Although time has left its mark, it is still possible to sense that it is a building that was supposed to act dominantly and equip all those who came to it. Let us now consider the people who lived here. Although the specific stories of individual members of the Péchy family or Rings are not detailed in the available documents, the very existence of this residence allows us to imagine everyday life in such a house. Imagine the morning conversations in the salons, the decision to farm on local lands, and visitors from nearby towns. Every room, every hallway and every corner of this house testifies to the lives of the people looking for their happiness here, building their assets, and perhaps even experiencing personal tragedies. It's fascinating to think how many generations have passed through this door and what secrets these walls are still hiding. It's the most interesting thing about this place. The Pechy manor is a mystery in many ways. The absence of accurate data and the names of architects creates some room for imagination. Who exactly designed this house? What dreams did the people who built it have? Why did the name Rings remain in local memory? It is these unknowns that are part of the authenticity of historical monuments. It is not a sterile museum where every detail is explained in advance, but a living fragment of history that forces us to ask questions and look for answers in the details we see before us. Now that you have looked at the exterior and perceived the spirit of the past surrounding this object, invite you to further explore the surroundings. Pečovská Nová Ves has its own charm and this manor house is an integral part of it. Let your curiosity guide you and try to imagine what this place looked like hundreds of years ago, when its gardens were in full blossom and the voices of noble families sounded in the halls. Thank you for a walk in history together. I hope you were impressed by the visit to the Pechy manor and that you felt connected to the ancient times. I wish you a pleasant rest of the day and a pleasant journey through other beautiful places of our region. Goodbye.

Seasonal recommendations

In the spring blooms in the park near the manor house of the Pechy crews spring. Fresh greenery and soft lighting are suitable for morning walks and outdoor photography, when trees are not yet in full leaves. Due to variable weather and cold mornings we recommend layered clothing and sturdy shoes. During this period there is a minimum of visitors in the area.

The summer is an area in lush vegetation and trees in the park provide shade. Due to the strong contrast of light and shadow it is advisable to visit the place early in the morning or evening. We recommend lightweight clothing, head cover and repellent. During summer holidays there may be more visitors around.

In the autumn, the park in Péčovská Nová Ves will turn into yellow, red and brown shades. The low sun produces long shadows and golden light, which stands out especially in the afternoon before dusk. We recommend windproof clothing and waterproof footwear because of the weather and morning fog. During this period it is peaceful around the historical walls.

Winter transforms the surroundings of the manor house into a quiet country where snow highlights the lines of architecture and silhouette of the object. Since daylight is short, the best time to visit exteriors is around noon. Warm clothes, hats, gloves, and sturdy shoes are essential, as roads in the park can be icy. In the winter months there is silence in the area.
