Welcome to Vyšné Medzov, in this fascinating corner of the Košice region, where history connects with nature and where each stone tells its own story. You are standing right in front of Antle's home, a place that is an embodied witness to the ancient times, when the rhythm of life in this area did not give hours, but regular blows of covadina and the sound of running water. Now that you stop and look around, you may feel a strange calmness, but first of all feel the atmosphere of this place. Before you lies a monument that carries us to the world of old crafts, until the time when iron and fire formed the fate of the entire generations of the inhabitants of Medzov.

Let us now consider together what humour is and why it is so important to us today. Hámor was not a mere workshop. It was a complex technical facility where water was used to cup huge hammers, which with tireless precision shaped hot iron. Although the exact dates of this particular hámora are not documented with absolute precision today, we know that Medzev has been a key center for metalworking and ore processing throughout the region for centuries. The emergence of such devices was dictated by the need for more efficient metal processing, which was found in the vicinity. It was the combination of natural resources, such as water from local streams, and human genius in the field of metallurgy that led to the construction of these industrial temples.

Nyni pay attention to the building itself. When you observe it, do not look for modern perfection in it, but look for functionality and efficiency. Look at the overall layout of the object and see how naturally it fits into the country. The architecture of the hámors has always been subordinate to the technical process. Everything here has been designed so that water can power colossal machines effectively. Note how the building communicates with the terrain, how the approach is solved, and how the building's very mass evacuates stability and strength. Although time left its mark on the surfaces, it is these patins and wears that give the place its authenticity. It is not just walls and roofs, but a space that was once filled with hot air, sparks and constant noise.

Try to close your eyes for a moment and imagine how this place sounded tens, maybe hundreds of years ago. Listen to that rhythmic, deep sound of falling hammers that must have been audible all over the village. Imagine men with faces blackened from soot and sweat who, with great skill and strength in their hands, controlled the molten metal. Although the names of the specific masters who worked here, history in many cases muttered, their trail is in every detail of this hámora. They were people who turned raw metal into tools that helped others to survive, horseshoes for horses, and everyday items. The work in the home was difficult, dangerous, and required great discipline. It was a community work where everyone played their part and where knowledge from master to scholar was given orally and practically, hand-to-hand.

In every place like this, there is a mystery of its kind. In the case of Antlov's home, it's probably the silent presence of the past that makes us ask questions. What happened here? How many conversations have the craftsmen had during short breaks? What were the dreams of the people who spent most of their day here? Fascinating is the idea that technology, which was at the height of engineering in its time, has now become a silent monument. It is a reminder of how quickly the world is changing and how modern industry has taken us away from direct contact with natural elements. Hámor is the bridge between the era of manual work and the era of machinery, and it is in this overflow that its greatest magic is found.

When you look around again, view this object not only as a historical building, but as a living organism, which, although no longer breathing with fire, still glows the pride of its past. Antlov hámor is part of the wider story of Vyšné Medzov, a city famous for its artists, sculptors and coves. It is this tradition of material processing, whether iron or ceramics, that defines the identity of this city. Standing here, you're becoming part of this story.

Before we say goodbye and you go further to your discoveries, I suggest you keep your surroundings quiet. Look at the details of the facade, the way the light hits the walls, and try to feel all the layers of time that have accumulated here. This humour teaches us humility toward the work of our hands and respectful of the materials provided by the earth.

There are also other attractions of Vyšny Medzov that will help you complete your picture of this unique place. Let your curiosity guide you through the surrounding streets and look for more traces of the ancient craft encoded in every corner in this city. Thank you for your attention and for taking the time to remember. I wish you a pleasant way to continue and remember that history is not only in the books, but right here, in front of you, in the silence of the old walls of Antlov's home. May you please in this beautiful region and let the spirit of old masters inspire you. Goodbye and good trip.
