Welcome to Giraltovce, in the heart of Prešov region, where time seems to flow slower and where every street tells its own, sometimes almost forgotten story. Right now you are standing in front of a place which is a silent witness of ancient times - the Banos manor house. When you look at it, you may feel at the first moment the peace and a certain melancholy that every historical structure that has outlived generations bears. Feel this atmosphere, breathe the air of this region, and let yourself be reminded of today's rush. In front of you, the rods of the building, which by its presence defines the nature of this place and reminds us that history is not only about dates in textbooks, but about the spaces we can touch and in which we can still stand today.

When we stop at the question of when and how this manor house originated, we find ourselves in an area where mystery begins to rule. The exact chronology of the Bánovský manor house is not exactly documented today, which makes it such a fascinating object. In many cases, it is this silence in the archives that gives the memorial the greatest depth. We do not know exactly who laid the first foundation stone, nor in which particular year its walls were completed. However, we know that the manor house, as a type of construction, performed an important function in our countries. It was not just a luxury home for noble families, but a center of administration, power and social life in the area. Imagine that centuries ago, this place was the heart of the local community, where important issues were addressed, where guests were accepted, and where the fate of the local inhabitants formed. Although the names of the architects who designed the project remained forgotten, their work still persists and allows us today to reflect on the aesthetics and needs of the people from the time this home was created.

Now I want you to focus on the architecture itself. Look at the overall silhouette of the building and see its proportions. Note how the mansion fits into the country and what the principle of symmetry and stability shines out of it. When you look at the facade, try to imagine how in the past it worked on visitors who came from the surrounding villages. Note the rhythm of the windows and the way they are spread over the facade. These very details tell us about the function of individual rooms - the differences between representative halls and private rooms. Look at the details that are visible right in front of you, the way the walls connect with the roof, and how the building communicates with the surrounding space. Although we do not know exactly what style the manor house was originally built in, its overall appearance tells us about the desire for representativeness and stability that owners wanted to build in this region.

Who lived in these walls? Who walked in these corridors and talked about what in the silence of his rooms? The names of historical personalities minted with Banoský mansion are not clearly stated in our documents, and this is perhaps the greatest mystery of this place. There may have been people here whose names were lost in memory, but whose lives were filled with passion, ambition, or perhaps even quiet sadness. We can imagine noble families who hosted their banquets here, children who played around the building, or servants who ensured the smooth running of this large house. Every step you have taken today towards the building is a step into a world where personal stories have been mixed up with the great history of the Prešov region. Paradoxically, not knowing specific names allows us to complete these stories with our own imagination. Who could have been the man who looked out the window at Giraltovce and planned the future of his estate?

It is this lack of concrete facts that lies the greatest attraction of this place. Báno's mansion is like an old book missing some pages, but the rest of the text still attracts us. The mystery of its origin and the anonymity of its creators and inhabitants creates a special kind of tension. It is a reminder that time is relentless and that many of what we consider important can be erased over time. However, the very substance of the building, its walls and its presence in the country are proof that something remains. It is a silent monument that teaches us humility before what we do not know and at the same time motivates us to seek answers in the details we see. Perhaps it is in this very silence that the greatest treasure is hidden - the opportunity to stop and think about what will remain of us for future generations.

Now that you have noticed the basic features of this monument and felt its atmosphere, invite you to make your own idea of what Banoský mansion means to Giraltovce. Walk around it, see its size relative to the surrounding houses and try to feel the contrast between the long-standing power and today's peace. Let yourself be guided by your intuition and find out which part of the building attracts you most. Maybe it's some particular corner of the wall, the way the light hits the facade, or just the feeling that fills you when you stand in the shadow of this historic building.

The Bánov castle remains a puzzle for us, which can only be solved through feelings and observation. Thank you for spending this short moment with us in the company of this fascinating building. We hope you found peace and inspiration in the Giralto silence. Now you can continue your exploration of this beautiful area, discover other hidden pearls of the Prešov region and look for stories that await their discovery. We wish you a pleasant journey and remember that history is all around us, just to be able to listen to her quiet whispers. Auf Wiedersehen, goodbye and may you burn in Giraltovce.
