Benický manor house is located in the village Dolná Mičina in Banská Bystrica region. The original castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance manor house in the second half of the 16th century. In 1667 reconstruction was carried out on the basis of the original Gothic core. Thomas Benický and his wife, Catherine Mervald's mansion has been adapted to today's form. Late baroque adjustments are dated to the end of the 18th century. In the 1990s interiors were mainly adapted.

Architecturally it is a two-storey block structure with four corner round towers and a built block tower with a staircase. The main facade is marked with a two-arm staircase located in a loggia arcade with a signboard from 1667. There is a late-renaissance fireplace on the loggia of the first floor, also from 1667. The entrance is protected by key guns. The interior preserves Renaissance and Baroque vaults with stucco patterns. In the middle of the layout there is a vestibule with a rolling lunet vault, from which they lead entrances to the side living rooms.

The manor house was owned by the Benický family, who used it in the 17th century. Since 2007 it has a new owner, who planned reconstruction, but has not yet been there. The monument is registered The landmark office of the Slovak Republic under the number of the ÚZPF 38 and is in dire conditions.

Today the manor house is open to the public. It can only be seen from the outside.

Welcome to the Benický mansion in Lower Micina!

You stand in front of one of the most interesting stories of the Renaissance in our territory - a manor house that has turned from the castle into a monument full of secrets and art. It is in front of you that his main façade is falling apart, which can tell you centuries-old stories. Let's go focus on her for so long and reveal her hidden details.

Manor house in Dolná Micine has its knees in the second half of the 16th century, when it was rebuilt from the original castle into a Renaissance building. However, this reconstruction was only the beginning of its development. In 1667 another significant modification was made, which preserved the original Gothic core, but acquired a new, representative appearance. It was at this time that its most remarkable element was created - the main facade with a two-arm staircase that leads to the loggia arcade. Note how this arcade connects with the signboard, which is like a seal in the manor house and reminds of its meaning in the past.

Look up and carefully overshadow the facade. Note the two-arm staircase, which is located in the arcade loggia. This element is not only decorative but also functional - it served as an entrance to the manor house and also as a symbol of its representativeness. The ships with arcades create space that is not only practical but also aesthetically connected to Renaissance art. The plaque above the arcade, which is partially preserved, can be a remnant of the original taste and meaning of the manor house.

The manor house was originally connected with the Benický family, which settled in this area and left behind this building, but also other monuments. Although not known for the particular personalities that stayed here, it is clear that the manor house served as the center of power and culture. Note the atmosphere created by his facade - this is where people met, decided fates, and where stories were born.

One of the most interesting things about this manor house is its ability to maintain its Gothic core during the Renaissance reconstruction. This is evidence of how art and architecture evolved and interlinked in time. The manor house is not only a building but also a document of history, which talks about the transitional period between the Middle Ages and modern times.

Let's move on now to other databases that may be interesting to you. See how the ship connects with the facade and how the whole building creates a harmonious whole. Manor house in Dolná Mice is an example of how architecture could evolve and rename, maintaining its uniqueness.

If you want to learn more about its history, feel free to go to the local museum or get more information from local residents. The manor house is just the beginning of a story that can be continued in many other places in the area.

Thank you for stopping by to see this beautiful piece of Renaissance architecture. Our story is not over yet - continue to discover the beauty and secrets of Dolná Mičina and its surroundings. Get in touch!
