Evangelic church in Dúžava in Banská Bystrica region is a wooden one-space log building from 1786. It has a period device and in 1807 it was moved from another village.
The church was founded in 1786 in Selce near Poltár. It was built by local believers after the release of Joseph II's Tolerance Patent, which enabled the Gospels to build their own temples. When the church choir in Selce built a new temple, it sold the old one in 1807 for 450 gold to Dúžava. The building was dismantled and rebuilt in a new place.
It is a simple log structure of oak beams with dimensions of 11.2 x 7.7 meters. At the corners the beams are connected by a carpentry link to the fish. The facade is smooth with clay-lime plaster. Valbe roof is covered with shingles. At the edges of the ridge are motifs of the sun or stars that occur on the evangelical churches of Gemer and Malohonte. Entry forms a portal with semicircular ending.
The interior contains elements from different periods, some of which are older than the building. A significant element is an illusive cluster ceiling from 1747 from the church in Klenovec. It consists of 42 cartridges with floral motifs, biblical and historical figures, some of which are accompanied by Latin inscriptions. The author of the painting was Michael von Dall of the Thousands. The three congregation officials are listed in the ceiling.
The space is lined by a two-sided painted empora on carved columns. There are original benches with esovite sidewalls and partially preserved marble. The central point is the Renaissance-Baroque edictula altar from 1681. It is a pillar architecture with acant decoration and a cartoon in the extension. The altar painting with the motif of the sacrifice of Isaac was probably installed secondary.
The building was declared a national cultural monument on 31 May 1963. Due to poor technical condition, it passed the restaurant, which was finished in 2007. At present, the evangelical services of both God and Roman Catholic Holy Mass are held in the church.
