Hrad Lednica Castle

The castle Lednica, located in the village of Lednica in Trenčín region, was built in the second half of the 13th century. His main task was to protect the northwest border of Hungary and belonged to the royal castles. During its history, he passed through various owners and was part of many historical events, including the Hussite cast and the Hungarian throne matches.

The castle dates back to the second half of the 13th century when it was built on a steep cliff to protect the northwest border of Hungary. Its first owner was the county of Marek of Lednice, which held the castle between 1259 and 1269. At the beginning of the 14th century, Matthew Čák Trenčiansky captured it, but after 1321 it was again taken over by the ruler. At the end of the 14th century, the castle was taken by the Pakši family and put in reserve possession of Henko, a nobleman of Czech origin. In the first quarter of the 15th century, Sobek and Matej Bielik brothers from Silesian Kornica became owners of the castle and estate.

Architecturally, the castle consisted of three graduated parts, which were inaccessible to themeärska. From the small front yard, the stairs followed the other trapping bridge, which allowed entry into the rock tunnel. This tunnel was the only access to the courtyard of the middle castle, where the main palace buildings and other rooms were. The highest situated natural observer was available through the tunnel.

During its history, the castle passed through various owners, including the Podmanick family, who occupied it with a military attack in 1533. After their death, the property was taken over by the Royal Chamber and later purchased by the Tekovsky bathrobe František Dobo. In 1616 the Lednice estate became part of the Rakociov estates, when Zuzana Lórantfiová married Juraj I. Rákoci. After the battle at Trenčín in 1708 he fell under the control of the imperial army and later occupied by the chickens František Rákóczi II.

Today the castle Lednica is under reconstruction and is not open to the public. Care for his rescue is a history-astronomic company in cooperation with the municipality of Lednica. It is possible to visit it during opening hours, and access to it is possible on foot from the former sawmill or through difficult terrain from the church in the village of Lednica.
