kostol sv.Antona Pustovníka Church and belfry
The bell tower of St. Anton Pustovník in the village Spišská Belá in Prešov region is a late-renaissance object from the end of the 16th century. It is located near the church of St.Anton Pustovník and is part of the complex of Spiš Renaissance bells.
Construction dates back to 1589 - 1590. It is believed to have replaced the older, probably wooden bell tower that died in the fire in 1553. The construction was carried out by the town of Spišská Belá under the leadership of the richer Anton Fabri. The building was designed in the space between the parish church and the town hall.
The monument has been damaged several times throughout history, especially in fires in 1607 and 1716. According to the findings of historian Jozef Špirko from 1936 bell tower sgraffito decoration does not.
In 1963 it was declared a national cultural monument. It was reconstructed several times, especially in 2005, when the facade was repaired. The complex reconstruction took place in 2016-2018 with financial participation of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and the town of Spišská Belá. In 2016 was replaced roofing and parts of wooden roof, in 2017 was repaired facade and in 2018 the renovation was completed by its final modification.
The bell tower is a solitary four-storey object on a square floor plan. It stands in sloping terrain, highlighting its vertical expression. The interior is divided into four floors with flat beamed ceilings. The ground floor served as a warehouse and preserved fragments of the original board floor. The entrance on the western side consists of a stone portal with flat translation and fragments of decorated jewel at the top. The first and second floor connects wooden staircase, while the ground floor is almost without holes. On the western side, the upper floors have small windows with stone lining. Access to the upper two levels leads through the spiral staircase on the north side, which results in the third floor and follows the wooden staircase to the bell stool. The bell stool is located on the fourth floor.
On the exterior of the bell tower lacks sgraffito decoration, whose historical existence is the subject of expert discussions. In the past there was a blockage at the top of the corner. A distinctive feature is the profiled crown ledge and the label attic with lower and higher pillars, plastic strip and finish stylized palmets and semi-rounded with three short teeth on the tops. Columns connect simple volutes.
According to the records from the canonical visitation from 1832 the building originally found three bells cast after the fire of 1553. Contemporary bells carry wooden bell stools; they have new metal heads for electric drive. The bell from 1573 bears the Latin inscription, the second bell comes from 1659.
Bell in Spišská White is open to the public.

We started this architectural pearl in 1553, when the fire destroyed the original wooden object. This style differs by its simplicity and elegance, which are characteristic of the Renaissance period.
Look up on an expansionary structure that will interest you. The bell tower is a solitary four-storey object, which means that it stands independently and independently of the church. The ground floor served as a warehouse and preserved fragments of the original board floor, which testify to ancient times.
Although the specific personalities associated with the origin of the bell tower are unknown, their work and efforts are visible. In 1607 the fire destroyed the object again, but also this obstacle failed to break its original meaning. Other damage came in 1716, but the bell tower survived and in 1963 it was declared a national cultural monument.
The interesting thing is that even though architects are unknown, their work has reached a comprehensive recovery between 2016 and 2018. This modification included replacing the covering and repairing the facade, which kept the object, including its historical appearance, for future generations.
