Welcome to the Monastery under the Rise. You are standing in a place where time seems different, where history is not viewed through the pages of books, but right under your feet and in front of your eyes. Feel this atmosphere - silence, which is not just the absence of sound, but rather the presence of all that was before us. Right now, in this peace, keep your eyes on the tombstones of the Toček family. They are quiet, stone Witnesses who are stuck here, although their exact story has been lost somewhere in the upland springs of time. You may not be impressed at first glance by their size, but their presence here is unforgettable. They are part of this country, part of this monastery and part of your discovery today.

When you look at these tombstones, you might wonder when they were standing right here. Here, however, we come across one of the greatest mysteries that the history of any one of us will ever blur. We don't know the timeline of the Toček family's tombstones. There is no accurate record to tell us in which century or in what particular time these stones came into the world. However, this uncertainty does not mean that they are less important. It is this unknownness that gives them a special, even mythical dimension. They are not just objects of the past; they are fragments of reality that have survived the uncertainty of years, changes in local powers and changing generations of people who, like you, have walked on these roads. Their existence in the Monastery under the Rise is proof that even when names and dates disappear, man's footsteps in the stone remain.

Let's take a closer look at what you have right in front of you. Although we do not know the hands of the architect who designed these shapes, nor the precise tools used for them, you can look for traces of human effort. Feel the texture of the stone. Take a look at how the surface of the tombstones dealt with the influences of the surroundings - how the wind treated it, how it was changed humidly, and how traces of time were rooted in its structure. Note the shapes found in them. Even if we do not know the particular artistic direction, you can see in them an effort to preserve dignity and respect for the outgoing. Follow those lines, those inequalities, and those places where the stone surface seems to be softer or more harsher. Any such detail is the result of the work of someone who in the past believed that this piece of material would be able to carry a memory of something important.

At this point, you might wonder who it was about. Who were the Toček family members? What were their lives like? Was it the people who lived near the monastery, or did something deeper connect them to the fate of this place? Although their particular fates, their joys, sadness or personal stories are not preserved in our historical records, their presence here is tangible. Each tombstone is a symbol of a particular person who had his name, his dreams, and his place in the world. Although their names may now be merely vague inscriptions on a worn stone, their existence here creates a strong link between us and the past. You stand before the memory of the family that was part of this environment, even though their story has long been quiet.

And that is where the greatest mystery of this place lies. What does this ignorance teach us? What do tombstones tell us that we do not even know who made them or when they were created? Maybe it's supposed to teach us humility. In this monastery, in this silence, these tombstones are a reminder that history is not just a set of solid data and clear facts. It is also a network of ambiguities, shadows and questions that we may never find an answer to. This uncertainty is not a mistake, it is part of the beauty of the historical place. Just because we don't know every detail, these tombstones allow us to engage our own imagination. We can imagine the faces that once lived in this region and the environment in which these stones first appeared.

Tombs of the Toček family are not just dead stones. They are opening gates to a world that is no longer directly accessible, but which still breathes through these fragments. They are a challenge to our sense of perception, so that we do not only see what is clear but also see what is hidden in the shadows and in silence.

Now that you see them and perceive their presence, we invite you to continue your journey. The monastery under Znivov has many other hidden landfills, other traces of the past and other moments to think about. Be carried by this place, look for details in architecture, nature and the silence that surrounds you. Each step can lead you to another discovery. Thank you for stopping by with us at these tombstones and spending time with something else that might just pass by. We wish you a beautiful and inspiring continuing tour.
