Brenner pond, a.k.a. Brenner Tajch or Praniar Tajch, is a historical reservoir located in the Štiavnické vrchy mountains in the village of Hodruša-Hámre in Banská Bystrica region. It dates back to the first half of the 16th century when it was built as the property of the Brenner Society founded in 1571.
The secret was part of an infrastructure providing water supply for mining and metallurgical processes. After the first written mention in 1584 Brenner Company played a decisive role in its construction and operation.
The secret architecture is remarkable by its massive. The castle has the thickest structure between similar objects in the Štiavnické vrchy mountains, with a crown width exceeding 30 meters and an air slope up to 10 meters. This massivity can be explained by security measures to protect the historical core of Banská Hodruše.
