The townhouse in the village Bratislava-Old Town, located in the territory of the Bratislava region, is an example of architecture from the second half of the 18th century. This object is recognized as a cultural monument and registered under number ÚZPF 12. The house represents typical features of burgher houses from the Baroque period, which in Bratislava showed increased interest of the nobility of residence in cities.

Historically, this type of building is associated with the efforts of nobles to transform their houses into representative settlements. In the 17th and especially in the 18th century, the nobility was bought side by side standing houses, sometimes two to three plots, and rebuilt them into representative residences. The city palace was characterized by a landscaped front courtyard, where in front of the floor were located social spaces with architecturally highlighted staircases. This type of house became the most frequent layout type of city residential building in Bratislava.

The architecture of the burgher house in the Old Town is characterized by its construction technique and materials that are typical of baroque style. The house was designed as a staircase and row object, which meant its integration into existing urbanization. The architectonic concept of the facade was partially altered by modification of the parter, while the material expression interferes with the removal of part of the volume of the side wing.

Today, the burgher's house in Bratislava-Old Town is accessible to visitors and imagines its continued functionality as a residential building. Its historical value and architectural features are an important part of the cultural heritage of Bratislava.

Reflecting on the value of this townhouse allows us to better understand the historical development of urban living spaces and their transformation related to changes in the social status of the nobility. Visit of this object offers the opportunity to enrich yourself with knowledge about the architecture and history of Bratislava, thus becoming an integral part of the journey along the cultural heritage of the city.

Welcome, dear visitors! You are faced with a unique witness of Bratislava's city history - House burgher, which stands proudly in the heart of the Old Town in Bratislava. Right at the entrance you will be impressed by its firm and elegant facade, which reveals the spirit of architecture from the second half of the 18th century. Look up and note how stone masonry is associated with fine details that indicate baroque influence, while maintaining the characteristic modesty of burgher dwellings of that time.

When we think about how this house was created, we have to admit that precise cronology remains hidden in mystery. It is not known who exactly stood behind his construction, nor when it was completed. The architects who designed this construction remained unnamed in historical records. Nevertheless, we know that House burgher is a typical example of architecture, which was formed in the second half of the 18th century, when a new wave of interest of nobility in urban life was developed in Bratislava. At that time, burgher houses became a symbol of prosperous urban families, who valued not only the functionality but also the aesthetic value of their housing.

Now let's go to the architecture itself so you can see the most interesting elements. When you look at the front of the house, you clearly perceive symmetry that is typical of Baroque buildings. The windows are arranged in regular rows, their framing and small ornaments underline the elegance of the entire building. The facade is decorated with simple but precise stone details that indicate a high level of craftsmanship. The architecture is characterized by its construction technique and materials typical of the period - solid stone walls that ensure durability, while allowing the creation of fine decorative elements. Note how these materials harmonize harmoniously and create the overall impression of strength and lightness, which is typical of burgher houses that tried to combine practicality with artistic expression.

Although there is little to say about specific historical personalities connected with this house, the very presence of such a house in the center of Bratislava talks about the social and cultural context of the time. Townhouses served not only as living quarters but also as meeting places for businessmen, craftsmen, and other representatives of urban life. In this environment, important business meetings, social gatherings and cultural events were often held that contributed to the development of the city. Although specific names and stories remain unknown, we can imagine that in these walls there were talks about trade, new urban projects and cultural trends that shaped Bratislava in the 18th century.

An interesting fact that may inspire your curiosity is the fact that the house of the burgher represents typical features of burgher houses from the Baroque period, which in Bratislava showed increased interest in the nobility of residence in cities. This trend brought to the city a new architectural style that combined aristocratic elegance with urban practicality. The burgher house serves as a living proof of this transformation. His presence in the heart of the Old Town is a kind of mystery - although we do not know the exact name of the builder, we know that his work lasts for more than two centuries and still gives visitors the feeling that they are located at a time when Bratislava changed from a smaller medieval settlement to a significant cultural and business centre.

When you rouse around, notice how the house is integrated into the surroundings of historical buildings that make up the unique atmosphere of the Old Town. Its stone walls reflect the sun's rays and create a game of light and shade that further underscores its architectural value. See how the past and the present are linked to the passage around the house - the old stones bear the stories of past generations, while today's attendance brings new life and energy to this historical space.

Finally, we invite you to continue to discover this fascinating piece of Bratislava architecture. Walk along the narrow streets of the Old Town, visit other historical buildings and get carried away by the atmosphere that has been around for centuries. The burgher house is just one of the many stories this city tells, and we believe that every walk will bring you new discoveries and inspirations. Thank you for choosing this moment to discover the unique history of Bratislava. We wish you a pleasant and stimulating trip, and let each other stop enrich you with other unforgettable experiences.
