In front of the rental house on Leškova street 20 in Bratislava-Star Town!

You stand in front of one of the most interesting and hidden architectural treasures of our capital. This house, which is a national cultural monument, is being formed as an unbridled witness to the past, which is seen only from the outside - and that is enough reason to stop at it. Take note of his silent authority, which is emanating from every stone, from every detail that dares and carries it in itself. The house stands as a guardian of several centuries that took place here, although its own history partly hides behind the clouds of time. It comes from the period when Bratislava changed in strong hands - from the Habsburg metropolis to the period of Hungarian domination to the Slovak modern era. Its origin is not dated, which adds something mystical to its presence. The house was built as a rental apartment building, which means it was intended for residents who found their homes here, but also for traders and artists who were attracted here looking for inspiration and space for their lives. His architects remain anonymous, which in turn proves that some works are equal to their quality without authors who could sign them. Let's move on to its most interesting part - its facade. Proheduce it carefully, for every detail here has meaning. The house is formed as a classicistic building, but with something that distinguishes it from typical examples of this architecture. Its facade is modest, but balanced, with clearly defined windows and details that indicate a seal finish. See how the house forms as part of the street, but at the same time it differs from it - how it would like to be seen but at the same time did not want to be too noticeable. This is a unique quality that makes it so interesting. Nyni pay attention to his windows. The windows are arranged symmetrically, which is typical of classicism, but their shape and dimensions indicate that the house was designed with regard to the comfort of the inhabitants. Every window is like a window into a different era, into different stories that happened here. Imagine the people who lived here watching - traders, artists, families who found their homes here. Their stories have been preserved in the stones, even though their particular faces and names have not been shown to us. This house was also a place where smaller but significant events took place. Although his historical personalities remained anonymous, the house witnessed a great number of human stories. Imagine how people from different parts of society met here, as everyday scenes, which seemed ordinary, but which were also part of a large whole. The house was also a place where smaller social events took place, where friends met, where family fates were decided. All these stories have been preserved here in the stone, in the atmosphere that still exists. Like any historical monument, this house has a secret. It's not the secret of a big dimension, but rather the mystery of the little details found here. The house is like a book that needs to be seen between the lines.
