Castle Corridor Castle

Castle Korlata is a castle from the second half of the 13th century, located in the Little Carpathians above Cerová. The monument used to guard the so-called Czech road in the past and today it has preserved the remains of the palace, walls and fragments of the tower.

The castle was founded in the second half of the 13th century. His historical purpose was to guard the Czech road. In historical records, the castle appears under various names, including Korlathkeu in 1324, Korlathkw in 1399, Kunradstayn, Konradstein and Cerov Castle.

The area architecture includes elements from early Gothic to Renaissance. In the castle core there are remains of the palace and towers of refuge from the second half of the 13th century, as well as the courtyard. In the front are preserved elements from the 14th and 15th centuries, including wall and courtyard. In the first half of the 16th century, during the Renaissance period, other buildings such as cannon bastion, gate, fragment of the castle bridge, wall wall and courtyard were built in the front yard. Preserved buildings include an economic building.

The castle was abandoned in the 18th century.

One of the attractions is the preserved crepe of the cylindrical tower, which is a unique finding in Slovakia. An economic building was also preserved in the sub-enhancement.

The monument is located at an altitude of 455 meters above sea level in the part of the Race over the village Cerová in Trnava region. The area records the Monument harvest of the Slovak Republic under number ÚZPF 596 and consists of 17 objects. Visiting this historical area allows you to see fragments of walls, palaces and other buildings.

Knowledge of the remains of this historical structure provides insight into the architecture of various centuries. It is appropriate to visit this area in the framework of discovering the historical heritage of the Little Carpathians.
