genus. Thurzo, Csaky Manor house with grounds
Manor house with an area in the village Moravany nad Váhom in the Piešťany district is a Renaissance building with an English park. The Monument Office of the Slovak Republic records this area under the number of ÚZPF 954 and its part is five objects: the manor house itself, the chapel of Our Lady of Seven Painful, economic building, residential building and park.
The building has a medieval origin, which proves its situation on the terrace above the valley of the inundation area Váh. Originally the manor house consisted of two separate buildings, which were forged by Renaissance reconstruction in the late 16th century. In the 18th century Baroque arrangements were made and in the second half of the 19th century there were other changes, including the addition of the third floor in 1881 and the tower on the eastern side.
The area architecture is characterized by Renaissance elements. In addition to the manor house from the first half of the 17th century, it also includes residential and economic construction from the second half of the 17th century. The Chapel of Our Lady of Seven Painful has a renaissance origin from the second half of the 17th century, its interior is dominated by an edictula altar with coats of arms of families Čáki and Ziči. On the altar there is a picture of Pieta, above which is a smaller picture of the Holy Trinity, and below it the tabernacle. In the chapel there is also a renaissance pulpit in black and gold color. The area also contains English park from the second half of the 18th century, where sculptures of Slovak and foreign artists are located.
The historical history of the building is connected with the Thhurz and Čáki families. The chapel was built on the site of the eastern bastion in the early 18th century, where the Cákis obtained the privilege of serving the Holy Mass in 1757. Between 1964 and 1970 the manor house was restored according to the project Karol Chudomelka for Slovak artists and architects. After the sale to foreign natural persons in 2006, the object faced a course that started to perform security works by Juris Doctor in 2017.
Today this area presents a historical whole with Renaissance and Baroque architecture and natural-landscape park.

Tips for visitors
Spring and autumn months are suitable for walks in the manor house, because nature then blooms or acquires golden colors. We recommend using the so-called gold hour before sunset when light highlights the details of the facade and the area. We recommend wearing a fixed sole suitable for moving in and around the area.
